<p>If you also factor in a shift in your diet, no matter how small to start with, you are using many ways to increase metabolism, take regular exercise, lower calorie intake and burn body fat. Provided you do these things in the <em>right way </em>and with the correct knowledge, you are in for a much easier time of it than simply pounding the pavement.
